RE:UP #15 Has Arrived

In this Manual, we are proud to feature a cover story on the boys whose music is a giant homage to the Jheri curl - Chromeo. Do they love or hate Los Angeles? Find out inside! We have in-depth interviews with Brooklyn's answer to M.I.A. - the super hot Santogold, the #1 band in college radio Hot Chip, the cosmic disco rocker Prins Thomas, the King of Horror himself Danzig, and Staten Island Afro-funksters known as The Budos Band.

RE:UP #15 also sets up a Q&A session with comedic writer and actor David Wain, picks the minds behind the popular FABRICLIVE DJ mix series, takes a look back on the New Jack Swing era (Teddy Riley 4-EVA!), and showcases original artwork by Freegums, Acamonchi, and Gangsta Rap Coloring Book author Aye Jay Morano.

In addition, there are exclusive articles on edIT & The Glitch Mob, reggae top rankin' deejay Ranking Joe, math rocker Caribou, Norway's Datarock, Zeb the Pleb, Tortoise's drum breaks project Bumps, techno breakbeat's old farts The Chemical Brothers, and Persian psych-punk doctor DJ Mahssa. Plus, you get more Baby's First Thrash Bands, the Manual #11 Rewwwind, peculiar vinyl album cover art collected by Anticon's Odd Nosdam, and of course more music, movie, gear, game and book reviews.

P-Rod's Part Put into Pixels

In Nike SB's latest film Nothing But The Truth, Plan B Skater Paul Rodriquez rightfully landed the closing part. And as if closing it out weren't enough, Youtube user rotze45 recreated P-Rod's entire segment using the videogame EA Skate, down to the last trick. All I can say is: this is some tribute.

Watch them together -- it's impressive how similar the video game is to the real thing. Rotze45 must have some serious free time.

WeSC Commercials To Promote New Headphone Line

Coming with the fresh as always. Several WeSC activists make an appearance -- I'm leaning toward Amy Gunthers' performance. Though Ed Leigh manages quite well with his solo.

Kaskade's Jet-Set Marathon

Photobucket

This past New Year's was a good one -- three cities, three parties, one night. I joined Kaskade and his entourage on his private jet, kicking it off in Los Angeles, to San Francisco, and then to Las Vegas for a final 7 to 10 a.m. set. Crazy. Check the full story at Complex Magazine...

Play-Doe

Kill him. They would do so. They certainly would. The realm of the visible should be compared to the prison dwelling, and the fire incited to the power of the sun.

If you interpret the upward journey and the contemplation of the things as the upward journey to the soul to the intelligible realm, you will grasp what I surmise, since you were keen to hear it.

This is some Plato Republic for you.

Jeff is down from LA, and he's reading this shit to me.

Whoa, That Last Post was Super Scary

I must have been going through a dark moment or having an "I was raised with Religion" pyscho-something something neurological something when I decided to post the crazy Jesus lady below. IT'S CAPS LOCK SCARY. But maybe it was staged for TV ratings? I had some friends pull off some pretty believable shit to get on Jerry Springer one time. But my point here is that I think we'd all be better off looking at Dita Von Teese's Tits.

Oh my...God? Do you believe in Jesus?

It's like Youtube 2007 blowout bash here at TEDO3---. But this one is REALLY worth your time. (Well, it's not that rad but it is an interesting if not totally fucking disturbing glance at religious fanatics.) It also tells us where we are socially, as this is the incontrovertible content that TV producers dream of: sensationalism to the extreme degree, in this case the raving mad holy lady. And no...I'm not a fan of Wife Swap, the ABC reality TV show from which the clip is taken. But would I have been pulled into this episode, had I been flipping through the tube at the time? You know it!
